Blanca Beatriz Caraballo (Bettina) was born in Sanci Spiritus, Cuba in 1969, studied Art Education at the Higher Institute of Education “Enrique Jose Varona” in Havana. During her years in Havana, she witnessed the social transformation that was generated through the visual arts. In 1991 she moved to Miami, Florida where currently lives. She continued her education in the arts at Miami-Dade College, Florida International University and private instructors such as Baruj Salinas and Yovani Bauta’s feminine collective workshop women-10 (w-10) with whom she participated in many exhibitions. Blanca has experimented with new media, video, sound and book arts. Currently she devotes her time to her two passions: visual arts and literature. She has participated since 2004 in the Spanish language creative workshop from Projecto Setra that operates from Books and Books and is part of the production team of “Nagari” art and literature magazine that soon will publish its first number. Blanca teaches drawing privately.
